Shield of Absorption vs Shielding Hands
I just got back into guild wars after about a 6 month absence. Slowly adjusting to some of the new monk builds out there but I have one question. (pvp oriented)
I have heard that the -5 dmg on SoA stacks with each consecutive hit. Is this true? On the other hand I have a r11 friend who uses shielding hands still... |

SoA stacks with each consecutive hits while SoA last. -5 on 1st hit, -10 on 2nd hit... . Re-applying it will reset the damages reduce counter.
Shielding hands recharge was lowered and SoA do not last long, so shielding hands is getting popular now. |

Despite their similar effects, their usage is totally different, which is why you see Shielding Hands despite SoA's advantages.
Shielding Hands is something a monk carries in their last self utility slots to maintain on themselves to lower the normal pressure they receive. This is much inline with monks that carry Conviction or any other skill that reduces the direct threat to themselves so they can focus on healing others. |
